Bring the Outside in!

As we throw open our windows and doors and welcome the great outdoors back into our homes this season, art trends are taking a similar turn. 2019 is going to be all about floral patterns, greenery, natural materials and oversized botanical prints. At Art Basket, we have been thinking at how you can bring the outside into your homes through art.

Botanical and floral prints

The easiest way to bring a little greenery into your interior is by introducing botanical and floral prints. These look great next to real life (or artificial) house plants and are the perfect way to add a little colour to your space. Botanical and floral patterns have been growing in popularity for the past few years and show no sign of stopping.

We love Krista McCurdy’s cyanotype and lumen botanical prints; made using real plant life. Shop Krista’s artwork here.

Art Basket’s new range of Living Coral posters also feature cactus prints that are perfect for more art deco interiors. Shop all Art Basket posters here.

Living Coral colour schemes

This year’s ‘color of the year’, according to Pantone, is Living Coral. Expect to see warm hues of peach, orange and pale pink accompanying this newest trend. At Art Basket, we have fallen in love with the set of Living Coral posters, available from only £20, all in keeping with this season’s outdoor trend. Shop Living Coral posters here.

Kierstie Masih’s abstract giclée prints also make great use of this year’s most popular colour palettes. View more of Kierstie’s artwork here.

Natural materials

Bringing the outside in isn’t always about which patterns and colour schemes you go for. By using materials from the great outdoors, you can transform your interior into a modern-rustic haven. Natural wooden frames are going to be hugely popular this season, paired with neutral palettes and house plants.

Artist Billy Byrne uses real pressed leaves and petals in his artwork, to create beautiful gold leaf original pieces.

Oversized artwork

Don’t be afraid to go BIG this season, with oversized statement pieces of art in your home. Large, framed photographic prints always make an excellent centrepiece.

Stuart Swies’ photographic prints revolve around beautiful scenery and stunning landscapes and perfectly fuse art and nature.
