Krista McCurdy

Krista received her BFA in printmaking from California College of Arts in 2003 and has lived in Portland, Oregon, USA for the last two and a half years. She primarily works with alternative processes that do not require a camera or a dark room. The cyanotype process uses light-sensitive emulsion that is exposed to the sun, with any image placed over it resisting the light. Although a 19th century technique, Krista pioneered a new variation on the technique that allows her to get a range of colours beyond the traditional blue and white.
